Review: Nu-pore Make-up Remover (Cleansing and moisturizing tissues)

Nu-pore make-up remover cleansing and moisturizing tissues.

Hello!! Sorry for being MIA, my dog Hoshi has been really sick lately and his case is fatal, which is why I can't sit and update my blog because I have to take care of him (we take turns here in the house) the moment I come home from work and I also take him to the vet every now and then to have certain procedures done. I hope you girls pray for his speedy recovery because he is like family to us already. We've had him for 6 years now - and he is my favorite pet among all the dogs I had. Dogs are really man's best friend! I really pray that he gets well soon. I even used most of my make up school tuition just for the bills at the vet, but it's okay because I can't afford to loose him anyway. I have to sacrifice the delay of enrolling to make up school and save up again for him.

Now that he is getting a little bit better, I have time to spare to do a short review. For tonight, I'll be sharing my thoughts about NU-PORE Make-up Remover Cleansing and Moisturizing Tissues.

Taking away your make-up at the end of the day could be a bit of a task. Good thing cleansing tissues were made to ease up this task.

Price: $1.39 around P50
Availability: I bought mine from Puregold Subic Bay Freeport Zone here in the Philippines. This may be available in most supermarkets overseas.
Quantity: 30 5.5 x 7.9 inch (14x20) Tissues

Made in Korea! Hmm That's why it made my skin soft and improved
it's elasticity.

WHAT THE PRODUCT SAY'S:

Nu-pore cleansing and make-up remover tissues thoroughly remove eyeliner, shadow, lipstick and blush - even waterproof mascara - without irritation.

You feel a dramatic difference after just one use and continued use of Nu-pore cleansing and make-up remover tissues works to tighten pores, keeping skin looking and feeling smooth, soft and moisturized.

Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, SD Alcohol 40-B, Polysorbate 80, Disodium Cocoamphiodiacetate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Cucumber Extract, Butylene Glycol(and)Water(and)Protulaca Oralcea Extract, Glycerin(and)Grapefruit Seed Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Camellia Sinensis Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Fragrance

It has a tab that reseals so as not to dry the tissues.

WHAT THE GEEK SAY'S:

It is common knowledge that make up should be removed at the end of the day to prevent clogged pores and break outs. There are many kinds of cleansers in the market, but the advantage of this one is it is a one-step process compared to the others. You just have to pull out one tissue and wipe it all over your face. The product is really moist and has a light fragrance. It did take away my make up from heavy foundation to waterproof eyeliner and mascara. Although you have to apply more pressure when wiping out the waterproof eyeliner and mascara. It did moisturize my face after, you won't be needing to wash your face after with your ordinary cleanser as some make up removers require. It left my face softer and improved my skin's elasticity, the moisture of the wipes is similar to some collagen masks I know, only it is easily absorbed by the skin.

I used all my heavy make up: MAC foundation, waterproof mascara etc.
It did a great job in wiping them all away!

RANT'S:
  • Hard to find locally.
  • Needs more pressure when wiping hard to remove make up like mascara and eyeliner.
RAVE'S:
  • Very easy to use and it is good for those who are always on the go.
  • Cheap, considering how much the product delivers.
  • Easily removes heavy foundation.
  • Leaves my skin soft and healthy.
  • Did not irritate my skin.

Review: Dove Foaming Make Up Remover

Dove Foaming Makeup Remover

I spent the entire day  in heels and make up, taking up a series of exams and interviews in my favorite hospital. Welcome to the real world for me! I have to snap back to reality and look for a job! My vacation days for passing the boards is officially OVER! Boo!!

So much for that emotional intro! Anyway, I am here to tell you girls, that no matter how tiring your day was, NEVER EVER FORGET TO TAKE OFF MAKE UP! You will regret not doing so! You can skip eye liner, primer or whatever, but never this step. It has to go off, COMPLETELY before you hit the sack.

And here comes DOVE FOAMING MAKE UP REMOVER! I have been using this for over a month now, and I am impressed! It's the lazy girls' make up remover if I were to describe it.

WHAT THE PRODUCT SAYS:
* Transforms from liquid into an ultra fine foam, to effectively remove make-up.
*Works by effectively removing even the heaviest of make-up including waterproof mascara, eye make up, and foundation.

HOW TO USE:
Use approximately 3 pumps of the lather. Pump into your hand and apply to your wet or dry face, including your eye areas to remove make up. Rinse off. For best results, use dry hands on a dry face and rinse off. After using Dove Foaming Make up remover, we recommend to wash your face with Dove Beauty Moisture Facial Cleanser

INGREDIENTS:
Water, PEG-8, Isopentyldiol, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisoterate, Glcerin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Potassium Cocoylglycinate, Ethanol, BHT, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone.

WHAT THE GEEK SAYS:
Like I said earlier, it is the lazy girls make up remover. Why? Just look at how easy it is to use. Just pump a few times (BTW, 2 pumps work well for me already), lather your face and rinse off. Just like washing your face with your regular cleanser. It is not oily (it has a foamy consistency), it does not irritate my face, and it leaves it squeaky clean as well.

WHAT THE GEEK LIKES ABOUT IT:
1. It does not irritate my face. Do you get the prickly, hot feeling on other make up removers? This product, does not give you that.
2. It is not oily. When you look at it from the bottle, you might think that it is oily, but NO! It has a surprising foamy consistency once you pump the bottle.
3. It can take away eyeliner!! Gel, liquid, pencil - you name it! Yes! Even the heavy ones!
4. It is CHEAP! Around P300. (I will update the real price when I find the receipt around my desk!) And I bought this for HALF the price! (Yeah, I know, I am always on the look out for cheap products on sale!)

WHAT THE GEEK DISLIKES ABOUT IT:
Nothing much, except that, it cannot remove mascara easily. I use a cotton pad to wipe away the mascara. It is tricky taking every bit of make up on your eye lids and water line, since you avoid getting the product in your eyes. You can't just take away mascara by rubbing your eyes (That would cause you wrinkles too! Crows feet.. Not cool!) So use a cotton pad, wipes or tissue.

OVERALL, THE GEEK THINKS:
This is great value for your money! Not only should we invest in make up, but also on good cleansers and skin care products. A good skin, is always a good canvas for make up. So, start taking care of it. Especially, since the age of the 20's (my age) is where your skin is at it's best. Take good care of it, to make it last til your 50's!

How it looks once pumped from the bottle (From oily to FOAMY)
P.S.
I appreciate those who visit my blog, I may not have a lot of followers or readers, but whenever I see hits coming from different parts of the globe, my heart leaps! It keeps me inspired to write more! I hope that, even if my blog is a bit of an amateur (Okay, not a bit! It is very amateur!) you girls still learned a thing or two from it. Okay, I'll stop now, this becomes annoying. Hehe Just comment away if you have questions! Oh! I would love it more though if you girls followed ;)

Small Korean Haul

Sadly my planned trip to Korea did not push through this year. So to make up for it, my older sister who still went there bought me stuff that I could add to my beauty loot and masks that would last me a year. YAAAAAY!

TADA!!! Just look at that chunk of facial mask from Baviphat

My favorite! The beauty blender dupe from Etude house! (Baby Doll)
Would you believe that this is for trimming your nose hair? But I use it for trimming my brows :)
Another one from Etude house: The Mascara remover! No more squirrel eyes the morning after!
Liquid Eyeliner from Nature Republic. It's good for people with oily skin like me!
The Egg Pore Blackhead out Oil Gel from Tony Moly
I asked her to buy me a foundation pot from VOV and a BB cream from Missha, unfortunately they don't have the shade that matches my very dark... (scratch the dark there) my very tan skin (ehem!)

The reason why I want to shop for cosmetics in Korea is because of their generosity to customers. Just look at the freebies my sister took home for me! HOORAY for more masks!! I wish the stores here in the Philippines would do the same. Missha and Beauty Credit give out freebies only if you purchase stuff from them. The rest don't give out anything at all.

My "pasalubong" with all the freebies Koreans give
I'd love to know your favorite Korean brandsand products. Comment away girls!
